“China and US lead the world in green house gas emissions”

“What is wrong“What is wrong with choosing progress over emission control?”

Most western nations are giving lip service to wanting to control emissions, because it takes money and caring about the future of their country and the whole world to make serious changes.

Pollution not the solution

Pollution not the solution

The US is dragging their feet and now Japan and China are joining the woes me club.

Japan’s has agreed to cut their emissions by only 2% by 2012. That is hardly a sneeze. Japan announced Wednesday it planned to reduce emissions by 15 percent by 2020 compared with 2005, the equivalent of an eight percent cut from 1990 levels — a goal criticised as too little by environmentalists. Under the Kyoto Protocol, Japan had promised to reduce its 1990 emissions by six percent by the end of 2012, or the first commitment period.

Then China has bailed out of the Kyoto agreement this week, claiming they must bury their heads in the sands and focus on getting people out of poverty. How about training people in solar industry and send them out as specialist to the rest of the world.

China and the United States are the world’s two largest emitters of greenhouse gases that cause global warming. Let us clean up our own act and model zero carbon emission and solar power for the world, instead of trying to change everyone else but ourselves. We can do it!!
